About Carlos Andrés Domínguez Sánchez
During the past years, I became interested in analyzing the microbiome, given its potential to serve as a molecular tool that helps infer aspects of the health of a given population. I am particularly interested in emerging infectious diseases that might cause populations of marine species to decline. Furthermore, while conducting my research, I became interested in climate change and anthropogenic activities' impact on wildlife health, particularly in marine mammals. The main aim of my doctoral research was to characterize the respiratory microbiome of the blue whale. I consider that the results of scientific research must be communicated quickly and beautifully! The answer is data and what it can tell us! Using beautiful visualizations... tell a story with data!I enjoy learning new things, and I am always looking for different challenges.In my free time, I enjoy photography, a good coffee and a good talk.
