Manage group of experienced Cytometry and Molecular Profiling scientists for preclinical and clinical immunophenotyping/immune profiling to gain a deeper, systems-level understanding of disease biology of autoimmune disease and molecular pharmacology of pipeline drugs. Collaborate closely with Computational Systems Immunology colleagues, as well as Discovery Immunology, In Vitro/ In Vivo Pharmacology and Early Clinical Development colleagues to develop coherent drug discovery and developmeent strategy from Target ID to early clinical development.

Develop mechanism of action and disease specific biomarkers for immunology/autoimmune disease projects for the implementation of Pfizer's precision medicine approach to drug development.

Apply novel molecular genetics approaches for new target ID, disease mechanism and patient stratification studies towards a precision medicine drug discovery/ translational medicine approach for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases

Target ID/validatioin, disease/drug mechanism of action as well as biomarker support for Exploratory and Translational Medicine programs for psychiatric, neurological disease and pain projects.Applied state of the art technologies for the molecular analysis of disease or drug mechanism including microarray based transcriptional profiling, LDA based TaqMan QPCR (including microRNA profiling) as well as protein biochemistry and reporter assays using in vitro or in vivo experimental systems.Applied variety of tools for statistical data analysis, data visualization and interpretation, pathway analysis, and gene and pathway annotation through data integration from public and proprietary databases.

Supervised a team of PhD and BS/MS level Scientists. Coordinated efforts with disease program heads (stroke/trauma, AD/microglial activation, brain tumor, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy) for disease specific cDNA library construction, array hybridizations, data-QC and statistical analysis, confirmation of results by quantitative real-time RT-PCR/ Northern blot/In situ hybridization. Introduced and implemented SOPs for all lab procedures.Developed and managed a disease specific clone collection of ~1.5 Mil. through the construction of subtracted and normalized cDNA libraries from micro-dissected tissue samples from human clinical and disease-model and normal mouse/rat brain tissue samples.Implemented highly sensitive labeling and detection technology obviating the need for target or signal amplification.
