Hired full time and continued to volunteer for every assignment with a positive attitude. Rapidly promoted to Chief Photographer. After four years of continual study across newsroom duties, I was promoted to News Operations Manager. My goal: become the best Network photojournalist. In 1994 I networked with colleagues at Dateline and NBC News and was asked to assist in news stories including Susan Smith and the 1996 Olympics.

Volunteer for any/all assignments. A reporter asked me to come along to assist with a news story. Halfway through the shoot the reporter I was running the camera. Volunteering opened many doors of opportunity. I started as part-time as a photographer. Continuing to volunteer for any role at the station one month later I was hired full time. This was the foundation of my work ethic, giving 110% to hone my craft and commitment to excellence.
