Corporate Security Manager/Investigator
• Investigate and coordinate all corporate and retail security matters relevant to Retail Stores, Warehouse, Plant and Operational Area offices as they relate to internal and external losses• Develop and implement strategic plans to improve losses due to fraud, theft and other acts of dishonesty as well as ensure the security of company assets, safety of employees and all persons entering property• Supervise contact guards and Loss Prevention assignments with the contract vendor of Safeway Management, inventory shortage reduction and internal investigations of misappropriation• Have conducted numerous daily ‘internal’ investigations that have resulted in employee discipline, termination or criminal charges• Investigate, conduct surveillance, document and build case files on internal and external crimes, offences and misconduct• Develop action plans for installation, repair and effectiveness of alarms, CCTV, access control and EAS systems• Conduct interviews of witnesses and suspects, as necessary, regarding all matters of employee honesty and integrity, theft, fraud, vandalism, harassment, assault, drug and alcohol abuse leading to termination and/or criminal charges• Investigate and liaise with local authorities and law enforcement in all criminal and civil matters, including but not limited to: Theft/ Fraud, Robberies, Bomb Threats, Domestic Terrorism (tampering with public food/ drug supplies), Liability Claims, WorkSafe Investigations, Organized Retail Crime (ORC) and employee matters • Procurement, installation, implementation and troubleshooting of sophisticated surveillance security systems such as CCTV, EAS (Checkpoint and Sensormatic), Alarms, Cartronics and Access/Egress control• Conduct employee interviews, suspect interrogations relating to internal / external losses and prepare clear in-depth reports on all investigations• Testify when required in criminal, civil or arbitration proceedings
