I’m Dr. Dwayne L. Buckingham, CEO and President of Buckingham Consulting Group, LLC and most commonly known as the Empathy and Resilience Doctor (The E.R. Doctor). My firm provides services in areas of DEIB, team building, cultural diversity awareness, empathy and resilience development, emotional Intelligence, continuing education training for mental health professionals, business coaching, productivity enhancement and morale boosting. Over the past 25 years, I’ve specialized in empathy and resilience development and emotional intelligence with a focus on helping individuals, leaders and organizations turn adversity into advantage and problems into solutions. While serving as an officer, training guru and psychotherapist in the United States Air Force and the United States Public Health Service for 22 years, I provided consultation, leadership development coaching, counseling and training to over 40,000 leaders, staff, individuals, couples and families worldwide. In recognition of my service to this great country and expertise as a solution-driven empathy and resilience consultant, leadership coach, psychotherapist and trainer, I received a Presidential Citation, 9 Commendation medals, a National Defense Service Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, 7 Achievement Medals and 8 Unit Commendation Medals. As a consultant and ICF certified coach, I have extensive experience in strategic planning, organizational development, leadership growth coaching and training. In 2017 I received a Citation from Wes Adams, State’s Attorney Anne Arundel County and was awarded DMV Entrepreneur of the Year from VIP Concierge for my work as a community activist, successful businessman, philanthropist, producer of four best-selling documentaries and author of thirteen self-help books.
