Establish maintenance plans for ground support equipment to provide systems, validation, calibration, functional / operational checks, commodity sampling of gas / fluids for purity / clean level requirements. Provide engineering documentation for pressure vessel inspection and recertification. Provide work authorization documents for equipment modifications to enhance safety and systems performance and reliability. Assess and provide engineering work authorization document for repair of hardware damage that exceed drawing design limits. Obtain (MRB) Material Review Board concurrence for corrective action of defective or nonconforming item that cannot or will not be returned to drawing / specification. Perform sub-straight mismatch comparison measurements of orbiter bond surface and thermal protective components. Verify contour tolerances are within drawing and aero thermal specifications. Inspect / verify bond surface preparation of aluminum, graphite epoxy, titanium and cured silicone surfaces for thermal protective component installation. Provide acceptance inspection of captive / non-captive thermal protective gap fillers through, fabrication, installation and pull test verification. Perform orbiter tile bond verification to assure installation acceptance. Perform laser step & gap measurements of installed thermal protective components to assure installation is within drawing and aero-thermal requirements. Perform process surveillance audits. Perform trend analysis of thermal protective system non-conformance issues and implement remedial actions for process improvements.
