About Dwayne Dewberry

As long as I can remember, my favorite game has been chess. I absolutely love the mental side of the game based on the skill set required to become a great player. The game itself teaches you how to not only analyze your opponent, but also train your brain to think in a forward looking manner.To me, this correlates with a sales approach which I thoroughly enjoy. Actively listening to customers or clients, analyzing the information given, asking the right questions, and then forward thinking to use the information for the close. My current role is the first non sales role that I've had in the past 10 years, and I've come to realize that I miss that thrill of the sales process, i.e. the sales chess match. Therefore I am looking to reenter the sales field and regain that passion.I often laugh when I think about my first sales job. I was 19 years old, 9 hours from home, going to school at Texas Tech University. The job itself was selling Rainbow Vacuum cleaners. The first day on the job I was given a phone book about 5 inches thick, and a stack of notecards (luckily I had my own pen). I spent my first week on the job cold calling name after name with the purpose of setting as many appointments as I could. Again, I was 19 years old, with no smart phone, Google, AI, navigation, or any of the funs stuff we have now. Just a phone book, note cards, a physical map of the city, and my Rainbow Vacuum to demo in each appointment's home. This is where it began.I have over 12 year of sales experience, 7 of which are from the auto industry where I worked my way up from sales associate to Finance Manager in my tenure. Premier Kia Lufkin, TX, 3x time salesman of the year . Silver Ranked Salesman nationwide by Kia Motors of America. In 2018, I helped a brand new Hyundai/Genesis point, establish it's internet department while serving as Internet Director for the dealership. Back at Kia, promoted to Finance Manager and averaged $2,100 per copy while spinning 60-70 deals per month. Also experience selling in the mortgage industry (high-ticket refinance loans), in which I achieved a successful status of being in the top 5 of all Home Advisors, experience in selling in the manufacturing industry, and retail industries. Along with my sales experience, I also have 6 years of management experience and over 15 years of customer service experience. I think of myself as a process person, meaning when you take the time to learn and understand the processes of a company, and specifically your role, you will rise to the top and be the cream of the crop.
