My sales career began in 1982 in customer service. I moved into inside sales where I learned the ability to listen and read customers vocal demeanor. This would provide opportunities to qualify needs by asking probing or open-ended questions. I learned organizational skills, as well as time manegment skills. During these years my sales responsibility encompassed undeveloped territory or specific accounts.During this time, my customer portfolio and experience expanded, which opened a new door to Account Manager and in 1997 an opportunity presented itself with a manufacturer of coax cable. In this role, my territory responsibility increased to seven states. As new technology was introduced, it provided new revenue streams. Broadband Services Inc., a new comer to the industry, introduced supply chain management, a line of high speed modems and networking devices. B.S.I. gave me the opportunity to move into new technology, increase my customer base and overall portfolio. High speed internet was proving to be a whole new market, with new players and opportunities. I saw SMC Networks as my opportunity to move into this new and evolving market and with only six account managers, the territory and customer base encompassed Cable, Telephone, CLEC, State, County and City municipalities in North America.As the events of September 11, 2001 unfolded, I decided to pursue a new direction. My knowledge of sales, marketing, and operation provided, on two occasions, the experience needed to start new businesses.I enjoy developing relationships and believe that people buy from people no matter how the economy performs. Throughout my career, I have had a fundamental responsibility to increase product penetration and market share. I am committed to pursuing new avenues, but focused on a sales position where I can build and cement relationships. A position where I can aspire to exceed challenges, all while being part of a team that is focused and innovative.
