Managed the Lucapa D&C team (a major capital project in deepwater Block 14 Angola, West Africa,with a P50 D&C development cost of over $1.5 billion). Lucapa’s drill centers were sited on erosionalterraces in up to 5,000’ of water, on the rim of a major submarine canyon (Congo Canyon). The mainreservoir was quite shallow, presenting unique drilling and completion challenges.

Advisor to Drilling Manager. Mentored national drilling engineers in well design and drilling /completion operational practices. Responsible for identifying/implementing opportunities to lower cost,improve production, and enhance safety performance throughout the company’s D&C land operations inthe Sumatran jungle. PIC to administer major integrated drilling services contract, includingdevelopment of workscope, tech specs, and compensation criteria. Oversee rig scheduling for drillingprogram. Department’s subject matter expert in well control (both steam and hydrocarbon).

Supported ahelicopter rig (heli-rig) operation working the remote mountainous jungle of the Southern Highlands,and a workover rig in Kutubu field. Responsible for engineering design of all Kutubu field infill wells.
