In 2016, I came in contact with an artist in the music industry. I realized throughout that experience that artists were very ignorant about developing their business and brand, and this ignorance is being used against them to this day to sign contracts that will negatively affect them for decades to come. I decided together with my partner to bring positive change to this industry. We wanted to educate artists to understand the full scope of growing their business independently or with labels, and understand the industry and the moving pieces. Together with my partner we set up a consultancy service for several up-and-coming artists in the industry. What we did:- Weekly consulting for several artists in business and personal development- Manage grant applications from start to finish, including connecting several parties for the production, mixing and mastering of the music- Budget management for Album releases, Music Videos, SEO, Branding & Marketing- Advised in contract negotiations with third parties- Fully produced music videos as well as produced content for marketing & branding efforts- Managed marketing efforts for several artists (e.g. Nelson Clark from 0 to over 2m+ streams on Spotify alone)
