As CTO, I am responsible for all technology development of the product, resource planning, enterprise security and regulatory governance. Contributing to strategic business planning, investor communications and cultivating a company culture steeped in empathy, delivery and trust.Accomplishments (so far!) include: - Spearheading product development, (alongside CPO) to provide strategic and technical guidance, feature development and architecture evolution to manage growth and scale.- Growing a "remote-first" company that successfully fostered a personally-connected culture (regularly measuring eNPS at over 80). - Customer feedback is critical in a startup! So proactively participate in sales, customer success and support contacts via email, onboarding meetings, demos and sales calls.- Defined the full software development cycle, implementing code reviews, documentation (Confluence), deployment process and automated testing approach. - Hired and built initial dev team from scratch, recruiting for remote developers globally, evaluating technical capabilities and value alignment.- Implemented end-to-end analytics suite, structuring a data-driven approach, operational setup, and actionable insights through regular metrics reviews and reports.- Hands-on configuration and setup AWS environment for production, staging and multiple test environments, assessing scaling, performance, security needs with oversight over maintenance and costs.- Developed AI-driven product feature set using integrating LLMs in with custom data set and leveraging "generative" features to bring speed and time-savings for customers.

Criton developed a suite of products that helped hotels, resorts, and serviced apartments deliver a phenomenal guest experience. We did this by providing beautiful, customised mobile apps for guests that integrated with hospitality technology to perform check-in and bluetooth door lock functionality. Combined with our powerful analytics platform, accommodation providers we able to gain valuable insight about their guests, better understanding their needs, enabling highly personalised experiences. The result was delighted guests who got the most from their stay and hotels who had happy, repeat customers. I led the Product Development team, overseeing three core teams with responsibilities including Product Management, Engineering, Design and Customer Experience. I joined Criton as CPTO in 2019, just before we headed into the Covid-19 crisis. Through the pandemic, I managed to grow a remote team that delivered product features and process improvements which helped us succeed in an extremely challenging hospitality market, resulting in both increased revenue and customers. This required laser-focus on the changes that would provide the greatest impact and acute decision-making to identify what process improvements would yield the necessary efficiency gains. Technically, we kept a foundation of code and architecture that was flexible, easy to understand, improve and maintain to move at pace and adapt quickly to new situations and contexts for our business and our clients. CTO at ACS Clothing Group / Xedo.com where I had the privilege of leading a talented technology team in an organisation with a history of business success - achieved through a focus on customer service. With state of the art processing and distribution centres, thousands of combinations of formalwear outfits are pulled together for customers who rely on their suits or tuxes having the best fit, the most stylish looks and arriving reliably for some of life's most important events. As CTO, I lead their technical journey from a direct-to-consumer model towards an omni-channel retail experience as the organisation partnered with formal wear retail chains in the US. I headed up an exciting team within Student Loans Company building innovative new solutions for customers by rethinking customer needs and development processes from end-to-end. We ran Agile practices within multidisciplinary teams relying on user experience testing and analytics to understand the customer journey. This enabled us to continuously simplify the experience while simultaneously reducing the costs to deliver the service. We created and launched new financial education products like Post Graduate Loans on a new micro-services architecture leveraging open source technology like MongoDB, RabbitMQ, DropWizard and Ansible. I created a DevOps capability within SLC to drive towards Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices , increasing the frequency of releases to better meet customer needs and reduce business risk. With all of that however it was really the people that created the vibrant and energizing atmosphere. Starting with a blank slate in 2015, I built the Digital Delivery team to over 200 technologists, through recruitment, organisational mergers and organic growth.
