Leads the Defense Information School Directorate of Plans and Technology which includes executive management of information technology and broadcast engineering programs. Analyzes and integrates highly complex data from diverse functional areas to identify trends and opportunities for action.Manages the collection and analysis of critical information to support strategic, long-termplanning and decision making in support of the Strategic Plan and establishes performance measurement systems to promote results-based performance measures and best practices, strengthen compliance with established standards, optimize knowledge sharing between functional areas and improve mission performance.What have I done lately? I transformed the school into a mobile-capable learning environment that has enabled over 3000 students annually to continuing their training mission even in the face of a pandemic.

I manage the Defense Information School's technical infrastructure, enabling over 3000 students annually through leading edge technologies. I have the responsibility for ensuring information technology resources are available for 2 main school building, 4 tenant organizations, and one offsite training area. I brought "green technologies" to the organization by redesigning the network operations center; led a virtual desktop implementation and data center upgrade which has further extended the overall shelf life of end assets; expanded our use of SharePoint technologies throughout the school; and led several cloud initiatives that have reduced both maintenance costs and levels of effort in course development.

I provide staff analysis, strategic planning development and management, knowledge management capabilities, performance and project management for the Defense Information School. I advised executive leadership on the status of strategic plan accomplishments including overall effectiveness and efficiency of initiatives; maintained the DINFOS knowledge management portal, external website and social media channels; managed the Visual Information Awards Program; and managed all enterprise programs and process improvement projects.I planned and managed a Six Sigma process improvement project that reduced overall course development time by 60%; resulted in new departmental workflow processes significantly improving the quality of training in the organization; and led to the accreditation of 12 courses by ACE evaluators. I planned, coordinated, and documented the organization’s strategic plan; coordinated facilities and resources for 40 executives for initial goals and objectives workshop; developed an action plan tracking system and provided scorecard reporting to senior executives quarterly.

I provided project management to information technology programs and projects for the Defense Information School. I document user requirements and ensured stakeholder buy-in for new initiatives; provided advice and consultation to leadership on IT issues based on DoD policies and guidance and measured and reported program and project effectiveness to senior leadership.I coordinated, negotiated with vendors, and obtained Microsoft Campus status eligibility for all Microsoft procurements for the school. I also managed the successful Department of Defense web-based collaboration portal project providing Public Affairs practitioners with the capability to collaborate in a single portal site setting; wrote the statement of work, selected the project team, and managed all aspects of the Time and Materials contract; provided executive-level status reporting; and delivered the project on-schedule despite major constraints on the project's timeline.

I planned, implemented and staffed the Information Technology Department’s Project Management Office. I developed and instituted organization-wide project methodologies resulting in documented best practices and standards for building the organization’s projects portfolio; implemented a training and mentoring program that achieved a 100% PMP certification rate; and developed and managed the organization’s IT lifecycle management program.I streamlined vendor hardware/software acquisitions resulting in an annual return on investment of over $480K. Documented requirements for all acquisitions and upgrades; compiled procurement packages; tracked procurement status; and conducted final inspection and receipt of hardware and software items. I delivered the organization’s initial Community of Practice project. I managed all aspects of software development lifecycle processes and provided direction and guidance to a team of six developers; managed the project deliverables as outlined in the statement of work; provided weekly status reporting to the assigned Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR); and was recognized by the CIO for increasing collaboration among stakeholders in a web-based community forum.

I enabled the nation’s warfighters by providing new technologies, applications, IT policy and guidance, and management oversight of the organization’s IT program; ensured safeguard of critical technology resources; ensured compliancy, quality, and security of developed applications; provided leadership and guidance to junior technologists; provided technology advice to senior leaders; and maintained operational status of critical IT assets.I led an Army training organization consisting of 12 staff and 650 students; authored the organization’s training management plan – the baseline for initial and sustainment technology training in the Army; and planned and managed a $2.4M housing upgrade project – 6 months ahead of schedule and saved the Army $1.2M in contractor costs.I managed the scheduling and execution of 30 basic and intermediate-level information technology training courses; supervised 40 technology instructors; managed $800K in technology assets for 12 classrooms, 3 network labs, and 6 instructor office spaces.I created the feasibility study and received management approval for the implementation of a three company and one remote detachment network integration solution; coordinated project activities and managed the implementation of a Windows NT infrastructure throughout the battalion.I designed and developed value-added computer applications for the Department of Defense and the United States Army; authored three COBOL applications in support of real-world NATO missions: the Standard Air Resource Management system, the Tactical Air Activity/Enemy Air Activity system, and the Counter Intelligence Order of Battle system.
