My name is David Whitfield. I started building electronic circuits when I was 5 years old. I continued building electrical hardware until I got to college, where I switched to firmware. I graduated with highest honors from Georgia Tech in 2013 with a BS in Electrical Engineering.I enjoy working for top tier Tech company's that focus on diversity, inclusion, and have strong core values.I'm most interested in writing low level software to control high power devices. I've developed motor control software from scratch to drive multi- killowatt BLDC and PMSM motors. I also have done many custom dc-dc converter designs to enable charging lipo batteries from high watt solar panels.I work on a plethora of personal projects designing custom PCBs and writing firmware for them. I love reverse engineering USB devices and spoofing them with custom hardware. Check out how I spoofed a PCAN USB and added Bluetooth support to allow for wireless CAN debugging. My favorite MCU/MPU to write code for is the AM335x or the Hercules from TI. The MSP430, TMS320, AM572x, STM32, and PIC32 are great fun too. Check out my projects listed below in the projects section.
