Financial Operational Manager 4/2009 – Current Coordinate operational aspects of accounting department including commissions, accounts payable and receivable, general accounting, government filings and tax preparation with a team of eleven accountants. Liaison with compliance department on regulations related to financial advisor setup and trade monitoring with respect to commission generation.  Manage all aspects of corporate financial reports including monthly financials and supporting schedules, quarterly board packages and annual statements. Lead team of six financial reporters to develop concise divisional and subsidiary financial reports, thoroughly explain all variances, create revenue, compensation and incentive tracking procedures, design key indicator analysis tools for multiple lines of business and revenue sources, automate preparation of schedules, etc. Preview prior to delivery to CFO, CEO and Division Managers all monthly financial statements and schedules prepared by financial reporters for accuracy, completeness and reasonableness based on corporate trends  Facilitate research and answers to all questions from upper management related to revenue generation, expense trends, budget variances, “what if” scenarios, break-even and profitability indexes.

 Assist in migration from Bet to MAS 500 GL system Control all aspects of GL system; account setups and usage determination, intercompany relationships, security, daily file imports into GL, etc. Setup, design and standardize all corporate financials migrating from Excel based reports to FRx automated reports. Create a variety of previously unavailable consolidated reports to facilitate management decision making.  Continue to serve as Controller of Holding Company, assist and train new financial reporters and coordinate general accounting functions.

 Manage two general accountants, organize and train general accounting functions including all government filings, fixed assets and depreciation expenses, pre-paid accounts, bank reconciliations, internal and external audit coordination, oversee tax preparation, etc. Financial Operations Officer for a 40 member Credit Union Partnership designing budgets and managerial reports and coordinating profitability measures.  Oversee financial reporting for operations clearing division and Holding Company and teach financial reporting to staff accountants.  Provide monthly financial statements for multiple Fixed Income institutional revenue locations to management and coordinate with division leaders and corporate officers profitability indexes, expense ratios and other in depth financial analytical reports. Analyze and balance all revenues and payroll expenses to production schedules creating trend reports and developing multiple timely management reports. Query trade data, prepare settlement date and trade date analysis. Detail all monthly revenue and expense variances and research account entries for correctness in accounting applications.

 Assist in monthly closings by preparing and entering journal entries, monthly accruals, and standard reversing entries; analyze various accounts for accuracy, and research variances in accounts. Monthly preparation of industry and government surveys, complete property tax assessments, organize and research Federal and State tax notices, reconcile accounts for proper entries by A/P and A/R, gather and prepare audit information, and review inter-company transactions. Support other departments in investigating accounting entry appropriateness and proper application of expenses. Design spreadsheets for asset tracking, monitoring insurance account activity, and other account analysis.
