I served many roles within TARC including positions as Network Administrator, Database Administrator, Manager of IT Systems and Operations, as well as Director of Information Technology. My duties and responsibilities were broad and very dynamic. I planed, directed and coordinated the daily operations of the Information Technology Department. I was responsible for capital and operational budgeting, strategic planning, project management, designing and maintaining IT infrastructure and enterprise systems, managing IT procurements and contracts, and representing TARC’s Information Technology interests both internally and externally. I was responsible for creating and reviewing all IT related Requests for Proposal (RFP), as well as IT policies and procedures. I managed all technical personnel, consultants, and temporary contractors. I served as a mentor to IT personnel in prevailing technological concepts and their potential application within TARC.

I assisted the Director of Information Technology in planning, directing, and coordinating the daily operations of the Information Technology Department, and I assumed all responsibilities in his absence. I was responsible for capital and operational budgeting, strategic planning, project management, designing and maintaining IT infrastructure and enterprise systems, managing IT procurements and contracts, and representing TARC’s Information Technology interests both internally and externally. I was responsible for creating and reviewing all IT related Requests for Proposal (RFP). I managed all technical personnel, consultants, and temporary contractors. I oversaw TARC’s Help Desk functions and served as a mentor to IT personnel in prevailing technological concepts and their potential application within TARC.I participated with software and industry and user groups, as well as other transit and government organizations. I was called upon to represent TARC in any technology efforts coordinated with local or state government agencies. I contributed to internal and external teams and committees anytime TARC’s Information Technology input is required.

I performed a wide range of activities to ensure that TARC's computer systems and networks accommodated TARC's performance and availability requirements. I provided technical leadership and support for all IT applications and hardware. I researched, evaluated, recommended and implemented new hardware and software technologies to ensure that TARC’s infrastructure met its business requirements. I managed and directed TARC personnel, outside consultants and contractors. I acted as a mentor and technical consultant to other positions within the department. I administered, maintained, developed, and implemented policies and procedures necessary for the security and integrity of TARC’s databases and applications. I resolved database performance issues, and implemented database backup and recovery procedures. I installed new software releases and system upgrades, evaluated and installed patches, and resolved software-related problems. I reviewed, analyzed, and modified programming systems including testing, and debugging to support TARC’s application systems.

I provided senior technical leadership for TARC’s daily IT operations. I also performed problem resolution, maintenance, and upgrades. I researched, recommended, designed, and implemented both new technologies and new directions for TARC’s IT infrastructure. I ensured all IT systems retained acceptable performance and availability and ensured users had proper access to required applications. I planned and projected future resources needs including hardware, software, licensing, bandwidth, and personnel.

I managed day-to-day Information Technology functions of TARC. I served as sole technical resource for management and end users. I provided guidance and direction for future IT needs, and made recommendations on IT related purchases. I provided support and training in the use of new and/or existing computer hardware and software.

Kosair Charities supports over 100 pediatric agencies in our community with funding for research, clinical services, health education and care every year.It is an honor and a privilege to work with such an exceptional group of people at Kosair Charities, and to help serve the needs of the children of this area. While working with Kosair Charities I have served as Board Secretary, Grants Committee Chairman, Legal Committee Chairman, and have been an active member of the Executive Committee. I have also worked on many other special projects and initatives sush as the Kosair Face-It Program as well as the Kosair Non-Profit Leadership Instuite.

Family and Children's Place has a mission to protect and heal children and families. They perform this mission through a mixture of child and family services, school services, family stabilization, new parent support, and child advocacy. There is also a focus to reduce substance abuse in high risk areas of town. Family and Children's Place and Kosair Charities are both partners in "Face It" A Movement to End Child Abuse. I am proud to work with organizations that have such a noble mission.

Began as fleet mechanic for our fleet of Ottawa yard trucks as well as over the road cartage trucks, Trailers and customer equipment.Became responsible for day to day operations, dispatching, driver staffing, parts and supply ordering.Managed accounts receivable and billing for cartage, parts, and service customers of Louisville Switching Service.Designed and managed a parts inventory database of approximately 1,000 parts.Developed a comprehensive database of all pertinent vehicle information as well as a running service record for 35 yard tractors, and 7 over the road tractors.Responsible for all computer related maintenance and troubleshooting in our main office and two remote locations. Managed a $100,000 + annual tire expense account, along with implementing studies for the overall reduction of tire expenses.Developed and maintained professional relationships with vendors and suppliers.Maintained communication between management, dispatchers, drivers and mechanics.Managed union and non-union workers
