I am a dedicated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with more than 15 years’ combined experience in the mechanical engineering field. I am currently fulfilling a senior mechanical position where I form part of our Electric Power Train development program. Myself, together with various other electrical and software engineers on my team are busy developing electric vehicle systems for each of our trucks so that the client has the option of ordering the products as a conventional diesel engine driven truck or fully electric driven. My advanced Solid Works, Solid Edge and NX skills are complemented by both my technical abilities and innovative thinking skills. I am driven by challenges, thrive on identifying simple and practical solutions to complex problems, and strive to excel in every aspect of my professional responsibilities.Noteworthy Achievements:As Team Leader Design at Marcé Fire Fighting Technology (Pty) Ltd:• Currently leading the design and implementation of an enterprise resource planning system to automate 95% of the operations in the business. Bills of material are entered by the design engineers, the system filters line items, creates job cards for each department, flags production status, and provides live feedback on job status.• Successfully implemented a smart number system and a naming standard convention for the company to accommodate the above process.• Finalised the industrialisation of our primary ARFF (Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting) vehicle for supply to airports for fire risk management, resulting in the delivery of more than 50 vehicles over the last 15 months.-Part of a team that is converting of a heavy duty work horse truck that is driven by a conventional internal combustion engine into a zero emissions electric driven vehicle for our end user.
