I sold that ownership interest back to the other owners in July of 2014. In October, 2011, I left this company and assumed my prior role as Regional Counsel for the Fidelity National Title Group. Based in its Seattle office, I was responsible for supervising 7 state counsel in four offices and advising branch offices and policy agents related to title insurance and escrow operations in Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming.The LandAmerica name was a marketing innovation for the three title insurance companies that operated with shared resources and management. I was so proud of the inspiring premise and guiding principles of this organization. Ultimately, it failed economically due to its investment of exchange funds and it caused damage to some exchange consumers and investors. [I was a significant LFG shareholder who lost my entire investment unable to sell while an insider.] Still, I believe so much was done right.
