In 2019, KIPP assumed operations of Woodson Park, a K-5 school that was a combination of the former Grove Park Elementary School and the former Woodson Intermediate, in the Grove Park neighborhood. KIPP Woodson Park Academy serves as the zoned school for any students who live in the neighborhood and functions as a traditional public school in regards to enrollment. Developed and implemented the school design plan for a $38M campus, hired 85 staff, attended various training programs to enhance professional growth and development, and visited high-performing schools serving similar populations to identify proven best practices and innovative solutions. Developed, articulated, and implemented a vision of learning shared and supported by the school community.
