I have an MA TESOL from the University of Arizona where I worked for 2 years as a writing instructor. I also have a BA in linguistics and a TESOL certificate from the University of Utah. I'm interested in digital literacies/multimodality, motivation, and assessment as well as JFL and computer assisted language learning.I have worked as an EFL instructor abroad for one year, and I have taught first-year writing courses to multilingual learners for 2 years at the University of Arizona. I've also specialized in long-term substitute teaching for around two years in public junior high and high schools. I'm familiar with digital tools, various learning management systems such as Canvas and Brightspace, and like to include several modes of learning into my projects using professional tools like Adobe Audition and Premiere. Additional projects I've worked on include creating a Japanese content-based corpus for JFL instruction, and developing online courses.Japanese-English and English-Japanese translation, voice over, test design, instructional design, curriculum development, Android and web development are other areas of specialization. As a consultant, I am available for not only instructional design but also corporate training.In my spare time, I work as a portrait and product photographer.
