My postdoctoral research project at Bose Institute involved discovering the unknown substrates of the eukaryotic protein kinases and thereby exploring their hitherto unknown roles in regulating various important biological pathways. As part of the project, I learnt different protein biochemistry techniques, such as, protein expression and purification from bacteria, insect cells (baculovirus system) and manmalian culture systems, Mass spectrometric analysis and other in vitro and cell culture based assays. My role as a postdoctoral research associate in the laboratory involved planning, designing, executing and troubleshooting research experiments, analyzing data, presenting it within and outside the institute and finally publishing them in the good quality scientific research journals. As a senior member of the lab it was also my pleasure to train different research techniques and help troubleshooting the experiments for the junior students and trainees. Part of my responsibility also encompassed purchasing products for the lab and other management jobs. Being part of a starting lab I also found it a learning experience to help my PI to set it up.
  • University Of Massachusetts Medical School
    Phd Dissertation Research
University Of Massachusetts Medical School Sep 2008 - Aug 2016
    Worcester, Ma, Usa
The central research topic of my doctoral thesis involved testing the prospect of a novel therapeutic model using AAV mediated gene therapy for glioblastoma multiforme, the most aggressive and common primary brain tumor. Application of AAV vectors in mouse model and stereotaxic surgeries in mouse brain are my special skills I gained during this period along with general cell biology, molecular biology, histology and biochemical assay techniques. I have published my PhD dissertation work in multiple peer-reviewed scientific research journals of high impact. I have also presented my work at the international conferences both as oral and poster abstract form and received prestigious travel awards for it.
