Financial ControllerBoomerang Funding Jan 2014 - Sep 2017As the team at Boomerang Funding has expanded, my role has focused more on the financial elements of the company.My role as Financial Controller sees me maintain relationships with customers, clients, suppliers and our bankers, as well as overall management of the office staff. I have maintained the on boarding of new customers, setting up the processes, planning and implementing transitions as well as managing the customer’s account until they are fully intergrated and ready to transfer on to our normal processing team. I also ensure the compliance of the company, complete the intermediary reporting on a quarterly basis, along with payroll year end, and the relevant HMRC reports required on a monthly basis. My role also requires me to oversee the credit control aspect of the company. With a team of credit controllers, we successfully manage a debtor book regularly exceeding £3.5m, across a large client base. Together, my team & I have exceeded our cash collection targets month-on-month, effectively collecting cash and minimising risk of bad debts. In 2015, I implemented the transition of the company’s CID facility, and at the same time as increasing the size of the facility. This transition has allowed the company to increase in size over the years and expand into new sectors.In 2016, Boomerang Funding was acquired by Brookson Group. Throughout the acquisition process, I played a key role in completing the due-diligence process on behalf of the previous shareholders, up until completion. Since acquisition my role has grown further, bringing the preparation of monthly management accounts in house, along with creating a more analysed MI pack allowing us to analyse the business in ways not previously looked at. I am also involved in reviewing the processes of Boomerang Funding to implement more efficient processes to benefit our team and more importantly our customer base.

My previous knowledge of the industry allowed me to help create a process that was user friendly, allowing recruiters to place temporary workers and contractors into roles with their clients, and then sit back whilst we took care of everything else, from contract through to payment, allowing recruiters to focus on growing their business. As the company grew, I was responsible for the induction and training of new staff, ensuring that staff were trained in their relevant roles, as well as ensuring they understood the importance of customer service to Boomerang Funding. Alongside this, I assisted in the preparation of monthly management accounts, year-end accounts, as well as completing all relevant HMRC reporting, including CIS and payroll year end. I also managed monthly reconciliations for the company’s CID facility, and assisted in its regular increases.
