Development, unit testing, and test support on a vendor part maintenance system to support the manufacturing of automobile and aviation aluminum parts. This is a .NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Forms, RESTful web services, XML, client server application developed using Visual Studio 2012 with extensive use of stored procedures in Oracle PL/SQL and some SQL Server.

Responsible for full stack development on numerous projects to support the company’s commission and compensation systems.• Designed and developed the Platinum application that determines eligibility and calculates annual bonuses based on new sales and renewals for the Platinum level brokers. This is a C# .NET ASP.NET ADO.NET Web Forms client server application with extensive use of stored procedures in Oracle PL/SQL. • Recently designed and built a Customized Bonus Program. This system consisted of C# ASP.NET screens to setup the parameters of the custom bonus programs, C# code to handle the business logic for program qualification and bonus payment calculations and PL/SQL stored procedures. This system allowed the business to quickly setup new bonus payment programs to support a dynamic sales team selling new healthcare products to target markets. • Developed and maintained a C# ASP.NET client server application to create 5500 tax forms. The PDF forms were created using Report Viewer and stored in the Broker Client Portal database so they could be viewed by the account administrators. • Supported the business users with ad-hoc reporting by extracting data using SQL queries and importing the data into Excel. • Created data extracts from external systems (i.e. Facets) and imported the data into the Platinum application’s database. • Analysis, detailed design, development and unit testing to support changes and enhancements to the Compensation and Commission systems. This was a mainframe application written in TELON, PL/1, and OBJECTSTAR accessing a DB2 database.

This was a contracting position at The Sabre Group (American Airlines Reservation System)• Was a member of a small team whose role was to bring 220 online programs into Y2K compliance? These programs were written in TELON PL/1 accessing both DB2 and IMS databases. • Once the Y2K compliance work was completed my contract was extended and I worked on a new Asset/Liability Management System. Did the initial analysis to determine the requirements and then created the detailed design documents, continued on to coding, testing, and implementation of the system. • After completion of this project I acted as a team lead, coordinating work assignments for two other programmers as we created interface programs between an existing order entry system and the new SAP accounting system.

SHL Systemhouse was one of the largest consulting companies in Canada and was a major supplier of IT service in Winnipeg. SHL Systemhouse bid on medium to large projects. Often these projects were fixed price contracts. We went to the client site as a team of 4-10 consultants and developed the systems for the client. It was extremely important to do complete analysis and detail design and then control costs and manage scope creep so that we could deliver a quality product on time and on budget. It was also very important to create concise documentation so that the client could take over and support the system afterwards. Quite often we would have employees from the client as part of our development team to ease the transition to support after the project was complete.

UGG was one of the largest grain handling companies in Canada with grain elevators throughout western Canada.• I held a variety of roles with increasing responsibility while with the company. • I started out as a programmer where I was part of a large team the created a new system to manage the day to day operation of a grain elevator from storage, cleaning, cash tickets, shipping, selling of farm supplies and nightly transmission to the central mainframe. The system was developed using macro assembler on a DEC PDP 11/44 and PDP 11/23+ computers. • As a senior programmer analyst I was a member of a small team that designed, programmed, tested, and implemented a system that tracked the location and movement of grain from the elevators to the shipping terminal in Vancouver and Thunder Bay. The system was developed using the NATURAL language and ADABASE database.• As a systems analyst I designed and developed an extensive farm supplies inventory control system that was used in the company’s area offices throughout Western Canada. The system was developed using ADABAS/NATURAL on an IBM mainframe.• As a DBA I maintained a large ADABAS database ensuring an acceptable level of performance was maintained.
