Sunset provides a wide range of technology solutions including sales, marketing and investments. It's focus is on communications. Key to Sunset's 26 year success is a proprietary contact list database of over 30 million key decision makers for IT/IS purchasing in USA. These include CIOs, CTOs, VPs of IS/IT, Network Administrators and Communication Directors. The company began offering the Dell Direct business model with a twist - that being it sells direct, but drives the billions in sales through Ingram and it's thousands of VARs and channel partners. Additionally, the company has invested heavily in new communication hardware and integrated software. Strategic technology partners include Google, Microsoft, LG Display, Samsung Electronics, SanDisk, Panasonic and Huawei.

I am responsible for a wide range of duties primarily negotiations of contracts for land, buildings, contractors, equipment and working with the technology leaders worldwide toward further expanding our firms impact on the world. I've had the opportunity to meet with many Board of Directors and CEO's for the top technology giants and innovators in the world. With our patents and their engineers we are partnering to introduce new and exciting products that could only be dreamed of twenty years ago.

SUMMER INTERNSHIPLG Displays and Samsung push each other in many positive ways. Both companies continue to make new, exciting products and glad to see they are using technology Dupont pioneered, and continues to lead the way with patents and innovative thinking. Dupont may be several hundred years old, but its founder would be proud of how it continues to forge new relationships and push third parties such as LG and Samsung into markets they hadn't even thought of before.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP - The phone is the new computer. I believe the greatest opportunities in technology surrounds the "smart phone" and Samsung is consistently leading the way. I think OLED is ground breaking in a great many ways - monitors can be as thin as a credit card without any chance they could break because they are made of plastic. What Elon Musk is doing with batteries is going to affect the mobile phone market in many positive ways. It's exciting being in such a vibrant industry with many great changes to affect people's lives.

I have a habit of always getting an internship somewhere in the world during the summer before I go back to school. It has given me a fantastic opportunity to see how a number of businesses work, a vehicle to travel the world with all expenses paid to and from the position, and a lot of fun while there. I almost inevitably get all of the grunt work that nobody wants to do but because I am always willing to work till midnight as well as work all weekends, I always get assigned to the most successful, or at least the hardest working attorney in the firm.

INTERN (AGAIN)Considering all of the internships I have held you would think I was in training to be a professional Intern - if there were such a position. Intel is an interesting company, but for a company that is essentially leading the computer revolution, it is pretty boring. If I had my druthers, I would have worked for some of the venture capital firms where the get to hear all of the hottest new ideas vs. watching people focus on how to make a clean room cleaner. Such is life, you don't always get to do what you want to do - at least I had a paying job - if a couple thousand a month is considered real pay.

I learned one thing at BNP. I never want to be a banker. No way. No how. What a boring job for not only me, but everybody who works there. They might as well be asleep at the wheel. They take long, long lunches and go home early, never work weekends. If you are lazy, but like money, banking is the job for you. I have much higher aspirations in life.

SUMMER JOBIt was a couple of years before he became the Supreme Ruler of Dubai so things were rather chaotic. My father lined up the job for me and I'm not sure if I should thank him or curse him. I think half of his entourage thought I was a very young spy or something weird or just a stupid kid dumb enough to spend a summer in such chaos. Dubai is the strangest city I have ever visited, advanced in some ways, but far behind the times in many other ways. I won't go back, I like to drink and go to nightclubs and like seeing some skin on the girls and can't stand the calls to pray five times a day. Hard to believe anybody gets anything done with so much praying.

The team at LG Display are doing a number of amazing things regarding television displays. I think they should have been focusing more on computers but who am I to tell them what to do. I was just lucky enough to get tours of their entire facilities and meet many of their scientists. Their work ethic is much different than the Japanese so I got to play on weekends vs. constantly work.

SUMMER JOBI got to work with senior level engineers regarding their molecular biology research. It was interesting but I was looking for something more tangible to business applications and products. Research for research sakes is great I suppose but I believe the research should have a business and financial goal behind it. There are so many ways through molecular biology and plastics that we can create brand new technologies to the market.
