My primary responsibility was to create value among a diverse set of stakeholders with often competing priorities in order to achieve success at addressing hunger and food insecurity regionally. In support of a diverse Board of Directors, I hired, trained, supervised and supported a team of 5 employees and over 500 volunteers, managed three separate facilities; a 16,000 square foot warehouse, 1,200 square foot food pantry distribution center, and 1,600 square foot commercially licensed kitchen for the Idaho Falls Soup Kitchen, along with a fleet of three vehicles - a refrigerated van, 26 foot box truck and 16 foot box truck. I was responsible to provide meaningful and effective policy advocacy positions related to food insecurity at the federal state and local levels of government. I was accountable for reporting on the outcomes and outputs of all aspects of our agency. I was the primary developer of all marketing and promotional materials and activities across multiple channels.

Responsible to provide executive leadership to a team of IT professionals, project manager, and sales force in the creation of a brand new SaaS product for an emerging market, the Ramsell Correctional Application (RCA). The product provides for coordination of care and services, referral management, case management, eligibility and enrollment for citizens returning to their communities from incarceration, and is designed to be utilized by correctional healthcare providers, probation and parole agencies, and court systems. Selected Achievements:• Utilizing Agile / Scrum method of software development, I oversaw the end-to-end introduction of a brand new SaaS product for an emerging market.• Conducted the first ever end user focus group for the company, resulting in the implementation of the process for all future product development and enhancements.• Was selected by the national standards setting organization for justice information sharing, the IJIS Institute, as a member of their Corrections Advisory Board.

Government and Community Relations, Organizational Development. I oversaw a staff of 10 District Representatives responsible for constituent relationships and issues, assisted in the drafting and moving of legislation in multiple policy areas and personally oversaw the delivery of $5 million in state resources to the city of Oakland for violence prevention/public safety programs.Selected Achievements:• Selected by staff of elected officials from all levels of government, non-profit executive leadership and leaders from the formerly incarcerated community as the inaugural Chair of the Alameda County Reentry Network.• Led the Senator’s Violence Prevention Initiative, creating a successful coalition of non-profits, faith based institutions, government agencies, and other elected officials in creating innovative responses to violence in Richmond and Oakland.

Worked with a large, diverse and often divisive Campaign Steering Committee for “Yes on Measure A” to pass a 10 year, $200 million school parcel tax measure in Berkeley. Captured almost 80% of the vote in a contest with an organized opposition from a well-funded anti-tax group. Responsibilities Included:  Facilitating group consensus in often contentious strategy discussions among a group with widely varying political, cultural and ethnic differences.  Responsible to build large volunteer base and coordinate all campaign activities, including mailings, precinct walks, phone banks, youth engagement and GOTV  Assisted in coordination of highly successful fundraising effort.

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is the parent agency for Thunder Road Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment Centers, Inc. Thunder Road provides short term inpatient, long term residential, day treatment, outpatient and continuing care services to adolescents struggling with substance abuse issues. The medical center foundation serves as the primary fundraising arm for Thunder Road. I was responsible for all activities at the Foundation related to funding needs at Thunder Road. Selected Achievements:• Planned, organized and implemented Celebrity Roast and Jam featuring guest of honor Joel Selvin, music critic for the San Francisco Chronicle, netting over $175,000 in revenue for Thunder Road programs and services.• Planned, organized and implemented first ever collaboration with Bay Area Music Awards fundraiser silent auction at the historic Henry J. Kaiser Auditorium in Oakland resulting in $150,000 in revenue for Thunder Road. • Created successful partnerships with local service groups that resulted in volunteer work days at Thunder Road that saved the agency over $250,000 in contracting, janitorial, and landscaping services

The M. Robinson Baker YMCA is an urban services YMCA, located in an economically depressed, high-crime area of West Oakland. The YMCA of the East Bay had operated the branch until civil unrest of the 1960s, at which time the branch was closed and shuttered. In 1996, after 35 years of “abandonment”, the community was highly suspicious and critical of the YMCA’s interest in renewing their presence in that community. Under those circumstances, I was a key part of the leadership team that was tasked with building community trust and partnerships and establishing quality programming. Selected Achievements:• Implemented annual support fundraising campaign, which netted $100,000 of community support in the agency’s first year of existence.• Managed $700,000 annual budget, 6 FTE employees and a corps of community volunteers.• Designed and implemented a youth basketball academy that emphasized academic support and achievement and character development that won the award for Program Design and Innovation from the YMCA of the USA.
