It has been said that knowledge is power and that education is the precondition for political development, democracy, and social justice. I believe that technology, when leveraged correctly, has the potential to improve education by a massive degree. This is why I have spent the better part of the past two decades focused on developing and improving technology solutions that support academic success.I am an information technology professional with a passion for empowering people to do great things. I got my start in technology service and support over twenty years ago as a student assistant while attending the Art Institute. Over time I continued to develop my technology skills as I worked my way up the ranks to eventually lead the entire Campus Technology team that supports over fifty campuses nationwide.Having grown up on a farm, I learned from a very young age to value hard work and integrity. These values have served me well as I developed as a manager. I lead by example and never hesitate to roll up my sleeves and work alongside my team to get the job done. In my experience, I have found that there is always a better way and I work tirelessly to support my team in the goal of continually improving the service, solutions, and customer support we provide.I am a life-long learner who is always striving to teach myself new skills. In my spare time I recently learned Apple’s Swift programming language and launched an Apple Watch game called PetriPet. I also enjoy vintage video games and built my own four-player full size arcade machine cabinet and a Raspberry Pi based Nintendo Game Boy with color LCD display. While I’ve never been able to teach myself guitar — I DO love music. Attending music festivals like Bunbury and Lollapalooza every summer with my wife and daughter keeps me hip to the know.If you’re interested in grabbing coffee and talking tech (or to challenge me to a game of Mortal Kombat), please send an email my way.
