Conducted clinical research with Dr. Nathan Siegel, Asst. Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. “Task Analysis of Nurses During Resuscitations” aims to delineate the tasks and subtasks ED nurses perform during the first 15 minutes of a patient resuscitation. Utilized direct observation of resuscitations and time-motion studies of nurses’ actions to generate a picture of where time is being spent and which tasks are prioritized in settling critical care patients.

Provided prehospital emergency medical care and transport as an Advanced Life Support provider in a service area with a population of 20,000 and >900 calls annually.

Aided students in developing a mastery of analog/digital photographic techniques as well as concept development and critique. Worked with Kerry Coppin, Associate Professor of Visual Arts, during class hours in didactic and practical demonstrations, held office hours and was responsible for the mixing/inventory of chemistry and equipment checkout.

Worked as a user experience researcher to develop the toolkit and space for industrial design firms to envision the “Nursing Home of the Future.” Conducted onsite observation and documentation of the needs today’s elders have and the psychomotor/cognitive challenges they face in current nursing home design.
