As Enterprise Chief Risk Officer, David Stanton is responsible for enterprise-wide risk management including the oversight and coordination of risk management activities across all TMX Group lines of business (including the Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange, Montreal Exchange, Natural Gas Exchange, Shorcan, Canadian Depository for Securities (CDS) and Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation (CDCC)). Specific responsibilities include:- Leads the development and implementation of a risk management program that enhances enterprise value;- Provides visibility and insight on risk exposures to the Board via a direct reporting line to the Chair of the Finance & Audit Committee of the Board;- Leads the development of a robust risk culture across the enterprise;- Independently assesses and compares the enterprise’s risk profile to predetermined acceptable levels and facilitates the resolution of inadequate or excessive risk exposures;- Creates and leads an efficient team of risk professionals focused on enhancing enterprise value.
