• Monitored California least tern colonies for active nests and predation to determine the effectiveness of volunteer and employee efforts of anti-predation tactics.
• Tracked Western pond turtles using radio telemetry to determine male movement within the pond and female movement outside of the pond to see where eggs were laid.
• Trapped Western pond turtles to weigh and measure them, determine if there were any pregnant females, and to add transmitters to their shells so they could later be studied.
• Trapped for salt marsh harvest mice to evaluate population sizes in coastal parks of the district.
• Entered least tern and Western pond turtle data into a database to be used by the wildlife biologists at East Bay and performed some statistical analysis on the data.
