As a Site Contract Manager, I act as contract study lead on allocated studies with active responsibility for the performance of the contract team assigned to the study, acting as a primary point of contact between Sponsor and study teams, determining site contract processes, delegating duties to staff, and providing functional oversight of site contract and budget negotiations. I create project-specific site contract documents, including study templates, and review contract queries that fall outside of agreed parameters escalated by Contract Specialists. As part of this review process, I provide contract support and advice related to site payments, site contracts, and other related documents and vendor contracts, identifying potential contractual issues, addressing, escalating, and/or resolving such in order to minimize contractual risk to the organization.

As a senior contract specialist for Medpace, I provide site and vendor contracting support services to contract attorneys and other clinical staff for Medpace. I am responsible for managing, tracking, following up on and reporting on status of documents relating to study agreements with clinical research sites globally, to ensure contracts are electronically stored, indexed and, whenever possible, searchable. I also independently track the status of clinical study agreements to ensure project timelines are met. I act as a liaison between Medpace staff and external contacts, collecting Medpace, site and client responses to negotiation requests, communicating negotiation parameters, and attending/organizing meetings between Medpace staff and external contacts as needed. During negotiation, I prepare and check original site and vendor contracts, and gather information on negotiation requests and forward any requests which require legal review by the contracts attorney. I also independently interact with Sponsor, sites, other contracted vendors, and member of the Medpace team, as well as work closely with Clinical Trial Assistants/Interns to ensure completion of administrative matters such as shipping and filing of all contracts.

As a clinical research contract administrator for the Office of Clinical Research, I developed, managed and negotiated confidentiality agreements, contracts, amendments, and memorandums for all UC Health Industry funded research trials through coordination with clinical research organizations and sponsors in accordance with UC Health policy and federal laws and regulations. I collaborated with the UC Health General Counsel to provide a business review of contract terms and negotiated the language of all contracts. I also conducted regular meetings with individual department’s research teams to guide the clinical staff through the contracting process and ensured our office works effectively with the departments. Finally, I supported, guided and provided consultation to faculty, physicians and department administrators on specific contract provisions of industry and sponsored research clinical trials and other potential research related business activities to achieve agreement and understanding in contracts.
