My experience and training initiated when I joined the Ammunition Technician trade within the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF). During this period of employment my training and work focused on maintaining, disposing and providing techincan support to units in regards to ammunition and explosives within the NZDF (particularly Army). Following my employment as an Ammuntion technician, I then moved into a new career and role (Research Engineer) at the Defence Science & Technology (DST). During my time at DST I have been part of a team which delivers evidence based research and information to support the field of ballistic and personnel protection throughout NZDF as a whole.During this time I have had various opportunities to develop a wide range of skills and be exposed to numerous different opportunities of developing. In addition, I continue to further work towards more tertiary qualifications to build on my role specific skills and training gained through my career so far.Some areas I am currently involved in are;- Technical support,- Field trials (physical item evaluation),- Statical analysis,- Report writing,- User/client liaisons,- Trial management,- Lab management,- Data analytics.
