This job is about helping people with varying disabilities with their tasks and goals. These people with disabilities, we call “Individuals.” They have various tasks at many different sites that us “Job Coaches” bring them to. These “Individuals” sweep and mop floors, clean counter-tops, vacuum rugs, clean bathrooms, and more. We provide them transportation to and from their job sites, help them if needed, and make sure they get the job done right and effectively within the time frame given for the site. Each site is the same, but also different at the same time. The things we clean are the same, but the way we do them and the order depend on which site is being cleaned. A lot of jobs are janitorial, but there are some at the main site, Hilltop, where people who are “lower functioning,” compared to the janitorial workers who are considered “higher functioning”, go to work to sort parts and print certain types of papers, decals, etc. There are many sub stations of Hilltop that include a shop, can and bottle redemption center, transportation hub, and many more.

- Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.- Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.- Broil chicken, deep fry food like French Fries, Chicken Wings, etc.- Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.- Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.
