C++ software engineer, working on semi-autonomous (BVLOS) drone systems for surveying critical infrastructure. Involved with development of both the pilot-facing UI and on-drone software to allow the definition and autonomous execution of a given flight plan based on available sensor data.

Assisting in teaching of several undergraduate courses in the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering: Digital Electronics and Computer Architecture (1st year UG), Software Engineering (1st year UG), Object Oriented Programming (2nd year UG), Machine Learning (3rd year UG/MSc), Pattern Recognition (4th year UG/MSc). I support tutorial sessions for students alongside lecturers, deliver one-to-one tutorials to struggling students, and provide support to students in lab sessions. I have also marked exam papers and coursework, and have administered oral assessments on lab work.

PhD in machine learning for computer vision, under the supervision of Professor Krystian Mikolajczyk. My research focused on the use of Deep Learning techniques for monocular depth estimation, in particular the role that non-depth-related auxiliary information (e.g. semantic segmentation, language models, world knowledge) can play in augmenting performance.Thesis title: "Enhancing Monocular Depth Estimation Using Auxiliary Information"

Working as a research assistant in collaboration with Sees AI and Imperial College London as part of the Innovate UK Future Flight Phase 3 Project. My role was to improve and deploy application-specific detection models on a resource-constrained edge device platform, an infrastructure surveying drone. Retrained detectors to improve performance on fisheye video, and deployed models on an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX using TensorRT and Docker. Worked closely with Sees AI to adjust models and live inference pipeline to their needs, interfacing with their existing systems. Project culminated in a successful test flight.

ERA Technologies is a company founded by me and 2 others, and provided pre-seed funding by an angel investor. Worked building a web platform to address what we believe are serious issues with the property lettings process in London, especially for students and young professionals. As well as developing the business model and product pitch, I was responsible for the technical implementation of the product designs, from architectural and design decisions all the way to minor bugfixes. I have worked both on the frontend (ReactJS, Bootstrap + extensive custom SASS/CSS for layout) and the backend (NodeJS, Express, ElasticSearch, Redis). Designed and deployed the site infrastructure using AWS, making use of some of the wide variety of services AWS provides (EC2, S3, ElastiCache, AWS Elasticsearch).Also worked with the non-technical side of the business - our filing requirements, running payroll, negotiating investor contracts, designing pitches and attracting new leads on clients, and liaising with our UX designer throughout the design process.

Working in a scrum Agile team to build a resource and time tracking tool for companies, with approx. 300 beta users. Full stack development (Linux Apache MySQL Python Django), with a particular focus on backend, but including some experience on the front end (HTML/CSS/JS/JQuery + AJAX).Also working closely with clients to understand their requirements and to aid them with any queries, and working on the bid/pitch process to potential new customers.

Working in the technical support section of the Apple Store in Regent Street. Technical responsibilities include the rapid troubleshooting, classification, and software repairs of issues on iOS devices, and education of customers on effective device usage. Other responsibilities include triage of incoming customers, personnel allocation for appointments, and general customer assistance throughout the store. The environment is extremely fast paced and highly organised, and high customer satisfaction must constantly be balanced against the limited time available without compromising on either.

Designed and implemented an application that automatically extracts key product, customer and order data from multiple Shopify platforms, stores it in a MySQL database, and analyses and reconfigures it into Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which are sent out via email to senior management.Other responsibilities included working as part of the Operations team on customer support (via Zendesk and Kickstarter), and prototype quality control.

Worked in conjunction with members of Imperial College Robotics Society to design a ‘Robotics 101’ course aimed at Imperial College students with no electronics or computer science background. My brief was to design and construct the robot (a combination photovore, photophobe and line follower) and turn this design into a simple to assemble kit. The Robotics Society now runs the course on a bi-annual basis.
