Hello! I’m Dylan Black, a senior at Northeastern University majoring in Economics and History with minors in Data Science, Math, and Computational Social Science.Professionally, I’ve spent much of my career in the startup world, focusing on EdTech and DisabilityTech. At Fiveable, a digital learning platform, I helped build the product and served as its first student streamer for AP World History, engaging with up to 300 students at a time. This experience allowed me to forge connections within the historical community and develop skills in product management, data analysis, web development, and content management. My passion for learning extends into my work in data science, where I use data as a tool to tell compelling stories. As a market researcher at the Howe Innovation Center at the Perkins School for the Blind, I built the first large-scale database of DisabilityTech companies and published research that defined the industry. I also gained experience in retail and shipping data analysis during my data science co-op at The TJX Companies. My research spans topics from the history of the TV Dinner industry to Marxist analyses of science fiction films and has been published in multiple undergraduate journals. I aspire to earn a PhD in Economics, focusing on labor economics and the economics of education, all within a historical and global context. In my free time, you can find me unicycling, reading, or dancing West Coast Swing. I’m always eager to connect with others who share my interests in education, technology, and data-driven research.Looking forward to connecting!
