Coder Dojo is a movement of free coding clubs for young people.I mentor in Limerick, and I have mentored in Birr and Nenagh. As part of this role I teach kids how to solve problems and how to create solutions with software. In the Limerick branch there are between 100 and 115 kids per week from as young as 5 ½ years old to 18 years old.Some of the material we cover but are not limited to: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Scratch, App inventor and Python.As a new initiative with Coderdojo Limerick I am now teaching parents the basics of software and computer hardware. The objective is to close the technology gap between parents and their kids. We started by teaching parents very basic coding such as HTML, JavaScript and CSS and this will progress onto more advanced topics. While there is some structure to teaching parents, they are encouraged to come with questions. So far this is working really well as the parents have a better understanding of what their kids as doing and this has started to accelerate learning process for the kids.

In my role in TechStar IT LTD I perform many repairs on laptops and desktops. This process was aided by the use of our ticketing system. A customer was logged into the system and then the associated documents were kept with the laptops and desktops throughout the repair .In my role as part of front of house I managed stock and took inventory checks making sure parts that were often needed for repairs were kept in stock. This also included many of the shops other items from laptops and peripherals to networking equipment and cables. I also worked with and met some of the representatives from our supply companies to talk about other stock that we could get into the store. This helped boost sales with the new variety of stock items available to our customer.

I operated tills. I communicated with customers in a kind and polite manner but also pushing sales by offering large meals. Cleaning of lobby and general area so that my work space looked respectable and presentable. I also cooked food and became well versed in making various types of sandwiches in an orderly and prompt fashion. My other responsibilities were to make sure that everything was stocked up and often was asked to organised stock rooms.I also changed stores and adapted very quickly to the new layout of the store.

As president of the computer I run meetings,write agendas, plan events, help manage money. I work with my fellow committee members to keep the society running smoothly and that we can all enjoy the events that we run.

In my position as public relations officer (PRO) for Bro-con I was given the job of dealing with advertising and sponsorship. Part of my job was to find and contact guests to come speak at the conference, as well picking up guests from the airport and ensuring they arrive on time comfortably. Furthermore, I also work as a liaison with traders and artists that come to Bro-con. As there are other conventions and conferences with a common demographic I reached out to the boards of these other events to build relationships so that we could advertise between our events and theirs.

My job is to deal with guests that come into the hotel and deal with them before they even have to approach the reception.I dealt with such things as,• Informing them of local attractions • Help book day trips and liaise with these companies• How to navigate the city• Direct them to reception if they needed to be checked inWhen the hotel is busy I serve as overflow for • Reception by taking phone calls, sorting ledgers, writing up the list of events for the next day.• Behind the bar, serving food and drinks also tidying up after guests had left and cleaning the areas as well.• Large events by setting up areas being used, helping guests, serving champagne and maintain the general area by picking up empty glasses and making sure there was no spillages that may lead to a guest falling.

I had several task which included basic digging, planting, weeding and I have learned at a lot about growing organic plants, which take more time and care than others.
