I moved to Raleigh to work from the office in Cary, North Carolina continuing my role at John Deere as an embedded software engineer. This role has given me more responsibility and opportunities to further expand my expertise in embedded systems.

I am a part of the Displays, Telematics, and High End Compute group and my software scrum team has primarily been focused on displays. Throughout my time on this team I have gotten a lot more comfortable with programming in C, C++, Python, and Bash scripting. I’ve also grown my skills in using source control with GitHub, and continuous integration using Jenkins. Besides embedded Linux, I also enjoyed my experience with Real Time Operating System (RTOS).

I transferred to this position because of my interest in Embedded Software Design. I started this while starting fall semester of my senior year, and despite the fact I’ve only been able to work part-time, I’ve been able to learn and complete a lot. Currently, I’m working on documentation that helps new engineers transferring to the department. Also, I’ve fallen in love with being a part of a Scrum Team within the Agile methodology. Lastly, I have gotten exponentially better at source control using GitHub.

Working in this position I primarily worked on Hardware Modeling. During this, I spent a lot of time analyzing circuits and schematics and it helped me apply what I learned in school. This position was focused on the system level, and gave me a higher view of projects. Also, I did cost analysis of system architectures for customer groups. My goal was to make my job easier for the next student, so I heavily influenced processes and clearly documented all I completed. This was my first engineering experience, and Systems Engineering gave me experience and exposure to Electrical Engineering and Software Engineering as well. From this, I wanted to try Embedded Software Engineering which is what I’m doing right now.

Mathnasium is a math learning center for students in 2nd grade through seniors in high school. Mathnasium is able to help student behind in class, or further boost students that are ahead in their classes. Its soul purpose is to show students how math is exciting, and to inspire them to excel.Here were the main tasks of this position:-Fully and effectively engage students between ages 8-18.-Accurately assess student knowledge-Communicate mathematical terminology correctly

I worked at this position over the summers of 2018, and 2019. I worked in the warehouse and in the shipping department. I was a part of the “train crew” which worked a lot with automated forklifts and organizing loads in the warehouse based on the order size.Primary roles:-Operate forklift-Problem solve issues with automated forklifts-Keep a clean and organized workspace-Ensure safety is of the upmost priority of myself and of coworkers

I was a Learning Assistant for Calculus II, one of my favorite math courses. A Learning Assistant is essentially a step down from a Teaching Assistant.Here were the mains tasks of this position:-Answered Students’ inquiries during class-Hosted review sessions for exams-Held a weekly office hour for students
