As a Writing Center tutor, I was to help students become more comfortable with their writing, ultimately with the goal of enhancing their long term skills and abilities. Sessions took anywhere between twenty minutes to over an hour, with emphasis on the "larger" issues--structure, direction, thesis, message for the audience--and less on the "smaller" issues--spelling and grammar.
