For this position, I primarily study the role of Stearoyl-CoA Desaturase (SCD) and it’s implications in humans and mice. I work to elucidate how SCD deficiency can improve insulin signaling and repress obesity. I collaborate closely with my PI Dr. James Ntambi and post-doc Muggaga Kalyesubula to help lead multiple research projects in the lab. In addition to this, I help to maintain our mice colonies and the research output of the lab all the while helping to develop and implement proficient protocols for the lab.
