Experienced in Ruby on Rails and JavaScript based programming including React with a background in Civil Engineering. My unique background in engineering has allowed me to critically think about problems to find creative, frugal and effective solutions to roadblocks impeding projects.I was born in Northwest Washington and grew up in Bellingham. I attended Washington State University, where I majored in Civil Engineering. Graduating as an engineer was a dream come true for me. When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always said "engineer." Solving problems was always an interest of mine, and my passion for math and science reinforced my decision to become a professional engineer.In my free time, I enjoy watching and chatting about baseball, hiking and camping in the summertime, and listening to live music.In the fall of 2022, I decided to pivot from Civil Engineering to Software Engineering to solve different problems while still leveraging my background and passion for problem-solving in a fresh new field. I recently completed a Flatiron bootcamp where I gained proficiency in Ruby, Rails, React, and JavaScript. I also finished several projects that showcased my skills in each language.Currently, I am actively looking for employment opportunities as a full-stack software engineer. I am eager to cultivate my skills and advance my career in this exciting field.
