Dylan De Stefano Email and Phone Number
My name is Dylan Destefano I am a level 1 apprentice at BCIT, I plan on pursuing my red seal certification as an Auto service technician. I gained my passion for cars in my early high school years as a friend introduced me to cars. From that point I've always wanted to learn how to work on cars at a high level not many can succeed at. I am a good person to hire because of my experience in various fields. such as working with children and young teens at a summer camp, working as a bowling mechanic, working in a quick service industry and working in retail. These are all important because they have all taught me new skills that I am able to carry over to my passion of the automotive industryVolunteer experience. Camp Jubilee To extend on my time working with kids.My role at camp jubilee was to work closely with a counselor for a week and help them with their cabin of kids to teens. To be there I had to complete a CIT (counsellor in training) program for two weeks and learn how to work with kids safely and in a way that the government approves i also had to attend a 7-day course to review and learn more before going back. This is important because it taught me how to work in various types of environments and adapt according to the needs of the kids. One example would be that there was a cabin of 9 kids around the ages of 12-13 with a kid who has autism, and due to that kid, we had to adapt for his needs to have fun and the needs for the other kids. Auto service technician I am passionate about the field of auto because I've always enjoyed working on cars and having an opportunity to be around high-end nicer cars. Another reason why i am passionate about becoming an AST is because I enjoy working on cars, because it shows what I can do with my hands and the knowledge needed to do so.

MechanicZone Bowling Centre Jan 2023 - PresentCoquitlam, British Columbia, CanadaMy job at Zone Bowling as a mechanic is to maintain the lanes by conditioning the lanes often, doing preventative maintenance and replacing broken parts or fixing other issues that may arise. All must be done in a quick fashion to prevent complaints from customers. This job has helped me learn quickly, work under pressure, expect to work long hours and learn how to problem solve efficiently, i learned how to communicate issues in effective ways. For example, if a bowling machine went down with an issue I've never seen or delt with on my own, i would leave a detailed note with what the machine is doing as well as what i think could be wrong with the machine; assuming a coworker of mine was able to fix it they too would leave me a note or stay and explain what the issue is as well as how they were able to fix the issue. -

This job taught me how to maneuver properly and quickly without making mistakes, it taught me how to work with others including serving large orders that one person would not be able to bring. -
Retail Store ManagerAramark Mar 2022 - Sep 2023Vancouver, British Columbia, CanadaAt Nat Bailey stadium I worked in the retail store as a manager. In my position I showed up early before most staff and prepared the store for the game. This included restocking popular items like shirts, hats, etc. I learned to open and close stands to find totals and increase our sales for the day. This taught me how to work with a small team by communicating with my fellow workers and put everyone in a place where they would thrive and succeed. I also learned time management when working by scheduling everyone's breaks properly so we would not be short staffed during rushes. -
