Drill rigs operated 24/7. - Emphasized the importance that the project needed to be successful for all parties involved.- Clients have included petroleum refineries located in Long Beach, CA (Occidental Petroleum), municipalities, agricultural, power generation facilities, and casino operators.- Managed Logistics for wells drilled on mountain cliffs in central California to remote deserts in Northern Nevada to wells drilled downtown Santa Barbara, California.- Projects ranged in value from $200,000 to over $1 million.- Well depths have ranged from 200 ft bgs to 2,020 ft bgs. Casing & screen diameters ranged from 12” to 18”.- Managed the installation of deep vertical turbine test pumps to collect data on the new wells production capacities.- Consistently handled the riskiest & most controversial projects the division was awarded.

- Worked with the companies weakest performing division (well completion and surface work) and turned it into a strength of the company.- Ensured project was continuous by placing timely purchases of specialized well casing from China. - Avoided project delays by working closely with the project engineer to establish subsurface confining layers & review logs.- Maintained project schedule by acquiring permits effectively, & coordinated effectively with power utility companies so the substation that powered the Electric Rigs could draw off overhead power lines. - Projects ranged in value from $1 million to over $5 million. - Well depths ranged from 1,500 ft bgs to over 3,500 ft bgs. Casing diameters ranged from 50” to 16”. - Wells were drilled using direct mud rotary then switching to reverse air once complex formations were encountered. - Rigs used for drilling were custom Electric Drill Rigs with a hook load capacity of 750,000 lbs.

- Reviewed, approved/denied submittals of specialized water treatment plant equipment.- Drew production drawings to recognize any conflicts in vertical construction, & to ensure correct fabrication off site and implementation/installation on site. - Coordinated construction document changes with engineer & subcontractors. - Assisted in project layout and ensure correct building & equipment location in the field.

- Constantly acquired federal, state, & local permits faster than other managers by using strong interpersonal skills and being relentless. Clients constantly requested I be a part of the engineering team. - Through my experience at Johnson Engineering I was able to meet with many federal, state, & local permitting agents and get a feel for how bureaucracy works, and also get firm understanding of land use plans, entitlement issues, zoning, wetland delineation, environmental impacts, potential endangered species issues. - Through being involved in controversial projects I learned how communities can influence bureaucratic agencies to negatively impact projects, and learned tactics that minimize the negative impacts.
