Modern technology and globalization has made the world a smaller place--yet it is filled with over 7 billion people and nearly 200 entire countries. The world is still a pretty big place.My mother is native to Taiwan. I grew up and was taught Mandarin Chinese and made frequent trips with my family to her home to visit my grandparents, uncles and aunts, and cousins. I loved traveling to a place entirely different from my own. Where many find it intimidating and scary, I find it exhilarating and enlightening. Because of this I am engaged in a study of Mandarin Chinese in addition to studying and gaining skills in Business Administration at the University of Utah. I seek to learn about and work in the international arena in hopes that I can one day contribute to finding solutions to our struggling global community.
