I am currently a second-year BSc Finance student at University College Cork, where I achieved First Class Honours in my first year.One of the highlights of my first year was being selected, along with 24 other students, to be a first-year analyst for the UCC Student Managed Fund. This was a fantastic experience that allowed me to learn a great deal about investment analysis through a series of workshops. In the end, we pitched our chosen equities in teams to the fund. This experience helped me develop my presentation skills and ability to work effectively in teams.In the summer of 2024, I had the opportunity to work at Baker Tilly Ireland in their Cork office as a Financial Audit and Assurance Summer Intern. This internship involved assisting Senior Auditors in preparing financial statements. My primary task was analysing client companies' bank statements to prepare the statement of profit and loss. The highlights of this internship included working within a large team and dealing with real-world situations. I significantly developed my skills, particularly in time management, complex Excel applications, and financial accounting.
