Business Owner, Coach, Athlete, AccountantFrom 2017-2022 I was playing college football at Utah Tech University. In my 6 seasons playing I had a rollercoaster of experiences. I was a redshirt that didn't dress, benchwarmer, starter, star player, broke records, all-conference awards, pre-season all-American, got benched, started again, etc. Going through this wild college football experience was the best thing that ever happened for me. I whole heartedly believe this has made me a better business owner, and person in general overall. During my time playing football I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in accountancy. Towards the end of college career, I had the opportunity to work for a couple different accounting firms. While working for a local tax company for an entire tax season, so much of the work was me creating and completing business owner's tax returns from scratch. Meaning that they had 0 bookkeeping or financial insight throughout the year. I found this approach to be incredibly outdated and reactive.
