After I started my nursing career in 2009, I quickly learned to appreciate the experiences I received in the emergency environment, as the learning curve was steep. Over the years I have taken every opportunity to further my education and heighten my clinical abilities by taking courses such as ACLS, TNCC, triaging courses, and participating in any relevant skill days. After a few years working in this environment I decided to study and write the National Emergency Nursing Certification (Canadian) exam. The year after I completed the National Critical Care Certification (Canadian) exam. In 2013 I decided to return to school to complete my Masters in Nursing-Adult Nurse Practitioner stream at Memorial University of Newfoundland. In 2019 I returned to school and completed my Post Masters Diploma: Nurse Practitioner (Family of All Ages) at Athabasca University. I am an experienced asset to the health care system, and I work very well in both an individual and team environment. It is my passion to continue to learn and refine my clinical skills and judgment. I am now in the position to broaden my experience as a Nurse Practitioner, and look forward to growth opportunities within this scope of practice.
