The Platform Engineering team is tasked with several support, back-end and infrastructure responsibilities for the Sales Center application at John Deere. During my time on the team, I have supported and managed several GitHub Enterprise organizations by developing commonly used GitHub Actions workflows, setting up vulnerability scanning tools like Checkmarx, and performing mass compliance updates. I have also set up multiple indices in OpenSearch that were ultimately used as a data source for Grafana dashboards and alerts. We have transitioned from an Amazon ECS deployed monolith application to an Istio service mesh deployed in an Amazon EKS cluster. As a part of this migration, I worked to integrate Argo Rollouts into our existing deployment pipelines. I have also been working with product teams to integrate their services into this new Sales Center service mesh. My favorite achievement on this team though has been leading and working with two high school apprentices closely since June of 2023 as they begin their developing career.

For my first full-time role out of college, I worked on the JDSC Quote product team focused on the quoting aspect of the John Deere dealer-facing Sales Center application. While on this team, I mainly focused on migrating our product from an outdated Angular-based frontend to ReactJS with TypeScript. I also played a major role in migrating our CI/CD workflows off of Jenkins and to GitHub Actions.

While a student at Iowa State University, I worked part time on John Deere's Cloud Security team where I worked with Amazon Web Services to develop cloud-based solutions to protect the company's internal resources. In this role, I primarily worked with Python to develop automation in the services our team provides and Splunk to monitor and develop metrics that track certain security compliance statistics.

In this role, I developed an internal team dashboard for John Deere's Data Platform organization that monitored Amazon Kinesis Data Stream pipelines. For this dashboard, I utilized AngularJS, TypeScript, and HTML5 on the front-end and SpringBoot and Java on the back-end to create a clean and concise online panel to be constantly supervised by the Data Platform teams.
