Shift Instrument Technician
As an Instrument Technician, my role revolves around ensuring that the instrumentation and control systems within our facility run smoothly and efficiently. I’m responsible for installing, calibrating, and maintaining a wide range of instruments, from temperature and pressure sensors to flow meters and analysers. Each day, I troubleshoot and repair equipment to keep everything operating at peak performance, diagnosing problems quickly and accurately, whether it’s a malfunctioning pressure transmitter or a faulty control loop.My work also involves performing regular calibrations to ensure the accuracy of measurements, which is critical for maintaining the integrity of our processes. I work closely with other teams, including engineers and operators, to identify and resolve any instrumentation issues that may arise. I’m constantly learning about new technologies and techniques in instrumentation, as this field evolves quickly.One of my key responsibilities is maintaining detailed records of all maintenance, calibration, and repair work, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. I also play a crucial role in ensuring all equipment is in top working condition to prevent downtime and support safe and efficient operations.The job can be challenging, especially when dealing with urgent breakdowns or complex issues, but it's also highly rewarding.
