I'm currently in my fifth year at the University of Cincinnati pursuing a degree in Construction Management. In January of 2023, I started my first Co-Op position in the Construction field at Crowder Construction working alongside their estimation team in the Heavy Civil department located in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this co-op, I familiarized myself with the pre-bid construction process and how the estimation team plays a key role in the life cycle of a project. I performed concrete, rebar, asphalt, and steel takeoffs which pertained to the construction of bridges and the rehabilitations of dams. My favorite part of this co-op was when I was put in charge of designing crane lift and set plans which I created and then presented to the pre-bid team for approval.In August of 2023 I moved to Chesapeake, Virginia to for Crowder's Industrial division to assist in the construction of a paper recycling facility. I was working alongside the Project Engineer to track incoming deliveries, write and update RFI's, and order anything we need on-site. I also worked with the electrical, civil, and piping superintendents to help solve any issues they have with their daily tasks and improve the efficiency and accuracy of their work. In May of 2024 I started my final Co-Op of my college career with Building Craft Inc's Industrial division to help construct Cincinnati's first Biogas Production Facility. I work alongside the Project Engineer and the General Foreman to solve problems before they arise in construction and learn how to install critical components of the process.I have learned over the course of my college career that I an really interested in process piping after my Industrial Co-Op's with Crowder Industrial Construction and Building Crafts Inc. I learned that I really enjoy working on projects with large scopes that cover multiple disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, civil, and piping. It is really cool to see progress being made on all divisions simultaneously and being able to assist with every aspect of the project.I will be available for a Full-Time position in August of 2025.
