Maintaining a very active and challenging lifestyle as an avid outdoorsman is of high importance to me. My passions include hunting and fishing as well as boating and quad riding. I am a hard worker and always enjoy and embrace a new challenge. My best is done to meet every new task with an open mind and the idea that success comes with hard work and dedication. While putting myself through college at SRU, I maintained two jobs and intend to continue with such urgency throughout my career. I possess no fear of hard work or trying new things and this motto is put toward my entire life. I try my best to live by the idea that tough times don't last, but tough people do.

As Project Safety Manager, it is my responsibility to plan, organize, implement, and monitor the Kiewit Safety Management program at the project level. Prior to our site mobilization, I drafted and published this project's Nobody Gets Hurt - Standard Operating Procedure and helped with the revisions and submission of our projects HASP. I have ownership of that plan and it is my responsibility to adequately communicate and implement the expectations detailed in that document. I perform project safety inspections and audits and appropriately communicate identified hazards, safety goals, and task-specific expectations with Kiewit craft and management employees as well as project management. Kiewit is committed to providing a safe working environment for our employees and others. Our employees are encouraged to continuously improve their safe work practices to eliminate unsafe acts and/or conditions. Safety SupervisorKiewit Apr 2015 - Aug 2015Indiana Power And Light Pertersburg, IndianaAs a Safety Supervisor for Kiewit Power Constructors, I perform and am involved with the following roles and responsibilities on our VPP Star Site in Petersburg, Indiana. I perform regular safety inspection audits of a crews of 25-400 during a construction project of a power plant. I take part in conducting weekly safety meetings to remind employees of the importance of hazard awareness and what they can do to help prevent incidents as well as attend crew-specific "toolbox talks". The IEP Safety Department plays an active role in coaching crews on potential safety hazards they may face on a job to job basis and what practices they can utilize to avoid those hazards and protect them from injury. We maintain safe work environments through interaction with the employees during their work tasks and directing them away from hazards and encouraging them to bestow their knowledge upon others. I take part in investigating, reporting and recording all OSHA recordable incidents, reported near misses, and all other incidents and occurrences to discover the chain of events that led to the issue. A completion of the "5 Whys" and an RCA is then conducted. We make sure to thoroughly train all employees on how to use and understand the importance of gas monitors as related to confined space use as well as small tool and hand/portable tool use. Eighty percent or more of our work is performed in the field working hands-on in a one-on-one environment with the craft and labor employees. -

Safety ManagerTic The Industrial Company Jan 2015 - Mar 2015Abernathy, TxElk Station Unit 1This project was considered a "Green Field Job" which means it was designed and built from the ground up as opposed to construction to an existing facility. Initially I was brought into the Southern District as some additional help during a major push of the project. Through gained experience and an opportunity to expand and utilize my skills, I was asked to remain on the project until it was turned over to the Start-Up Phase. Countless hours were spend working one-on-one with the craft employees to help aid and assist them in any way I could. I took this time to help coach guide and mentor all who were willing to listen; as well as a few that weren't so keen on the idea. Many crew members would seek my advice on various safety aspects of the job both prior and during the operation as a means of expertise to perform the work safely and efficiently. I was able to build a professional relationship and an excellent means of communication with the craft to help relate their work in more of a "Safety Sense" which provided me with a great advantage when working in the field. Ninety percent of my shift was spent with boots on the ground getting a first hand look of what field operations were all about.
