I started mining at the beginning of 2015, starting as a Mechanical Fitter apprentice with Rio Tinto working on various hydraulic systems and performing day to day maintenance tasks working within the shift maintenance crew at Cape Lambert mainly reacting to breakdowns and being responsible to recording and actioning potential faults before they escalate, After 2 years post trade experience within Rio Tinto, I began my journey with Roy Hill starting as a Mechanical Fitter working within the maintenance crew performing planned outage work, weekly maintenance tasks and reactive breakdown works, Over the time working within the maintenance team I was performing step up Coordinator/Supervisor duties before moving full time into the Coordinator position.
