Required information included descriptions of the abuser, what locations the petitioner wanted the respondent to keep away from, along with other persons that required protection (for example, family members who lived at the same residence, and any children under the age of 18). • First-person narratives of abusive incidents were recorded into a declaration, and all the paperwork was printed and compiled into the appropriate sections. The declaration included detailed narratives of the two most recent instances of abuse, along with very brief descriptions of older incidents, and a history of the relationship between the litigant and the abuser. • Other responsibilities include inquiring about further information from the litigants should their initial responses appear to be vague or incomplete. Communication with a backup attorney was also required for proper completion of the paperwork.
